Oh yeah, and they have a nice cork. LOL I know it might seem trivial, but I think it is actually an icon for how hard this producer cares about making a quality product. Had to mention it. :-)

Well, this is a classic restaurant wine, and will go well with a wide variety of dishes, as long as they are relatively bold in flavor. Like most Malbec, it is fairly stong in flavor, so you wouldn't want to serve it with fish or a light chicken. From something like Coq au Vin to Barbequed Ribs will work nicely. Another possibility would be a savory pasta dish, like Lasagna Bolognese or the like.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! That's the best compliment you could give us! And thanks for the update on the wine, that helps validate my predictions. It would be nice if we could afford to get several bottles of wines we full well know will improve with more age, so we can have a bottle every few years for around 12 years. Sadly that isn't possible for us... yet. ;-)

And I lean toward that notion about traveling wine in general. Somehow it effects some more than others - maybe when and how it travels. We took wine we KNOW to be quite excellent to Japan last year and it ruined it. We bought wine there and took it here and well... not ruined, but I'm quite sure it was adversely effected. Not much we can do about it I guess. Still so many wines travel here and are still so delicious!

October 2010
Good News! The bottle is drinking very well although the spice lingers and at 14 percent alcohol its a little hot. However I must state your palette is impressive;all your flavor notes are accurate as the wine unfolds. I believe the wine woulld have been better by a third if it had not traveled to the U S.
